What is KIDS eLearning?
The KIDS eLearning suite is an online training system.

Who is KIDS eLearning for?
The eLearning suite contains over 45 modules and can be used by short break workers, volunteers, sessional staff, youth & children’s workers and permanent employees within KIDS. The suite is flexible enough to cover a range of different requirements, from those who need a simple introduction and overview to people working with disabled children and young people on a regular basis.

When can I access KIDS eLearning?
You can log in and follow the modules at any time.

Will KIDS send me books, CDs, DVDs, documents or PDF files?
No. All of our training materials are online, web-based modules which are only available through the internet. We do not have any material that we can send to you by post or by email. Our courses are not available on CD or DVD and cannot be downloaded and taken offline.

Do I need to install a program on my computer to access KIDS eLearning?
No, you will not be required to install any software or programs to access the eLearning.

How much time will it take to learn to use the eLearning suite?
The learning curve is minimal. The eLearning suite allows anyone with even basic computer skills to go through the modules in minutes.

How much time do I get to complete a module and is there a certain structure I need to follow?
You are allowed to start with any available module from any stage of the eLearning and can take as long as you need to complete it. We recommend about an hour to complete a module with a 15 minute test at the end of each.

Is there a test and what is the pass mark?
Every module has a test at the end. The test is multiple choice and the questions are chosen at random from a bank of questions that have been written specifically for each module.

In order to pass a module, the user must score 70% or higher within the 15 minutes time limit. Once the test has been passed, the module will be marked as fully complete.

How are module test scores calculated and recorded?
Every module test consists of objective-based, randomly-generated, multiple-choice questions. Tests are computer-graded and results are available immediately at the end of your test period (15mins). Results are stored permanently by the eLearning system and is available to view or print at any time.

How many attempts does a user get to complete a module?
Every user has three attempts to pass the test at the end of each module. You will only receive a certificate after completing the test at the end of every module.

How do I know if I have completed or not completed a module or attempted any module test?
All the modules available are colour coded accordingly:

  • RED : Module hasn't been started
  • AMBER : Module started but not completed
  • GREEN : Module completed and test passed

Will I receive a certificate of completion for taking this training?
Certificates of completion are available for every module you successfully pass. The certificates are available in PDF format and can be printed immediately or saved as an electronic document.

Can I reprint the certificates at a later date?
Yes, you can simply log in to your accounts page, navigate to the respective module/s and print or download the certificates.

Can I access KIDS eLearning on a mobile device or tablet computer?
KIDS eLearning is not optimised for use on mobile or tablet devices. We are considering this scenario and will hopefully optimise it in our future releases.
