For Learners

How do I enrol in the eLearning programme?
If you work for an organisation or local authority that has bought the KIDS eLearning suite, please speak to your line manager, supervisor or training department to enrol. There will be someone responsible for managing all the user accounts who can create an account for you.

Once the account is created you will receive an email with an activation link. Please follow the link to activate and register your account. You will be required to choose a username, password and security question and answer. You will have to do this only once to activate and register your account.

If you do not fit the above criteria and would like to have access to our eLearning suite, please email us at elearning[at]kids.org.uk

How do I log in?
Please click here to log in to your eLearning account. Alternatively, you can follow the ‘Login’ link available on the eLearning page.

I have forgotten my password - how can I retrieve it?
Please follow the ‘I’ve forgotten my password’ link available at the bottom of the login page

The system will ask you for your username first. If this matches, you will be asked to answer the security question you created while activating and registering your account. Once you input these details correctly, the system will reset your old password and email you a randomly generated password for your account. It is recommended that you change your password to something memorable on your first login.

I have forgotten my username, password or answer to my security question and I am having problems logging in. What can I do?
Please email us at eLearning[at]kids.org.uk  with your full name, email address and organisation details. We will then recover your username and reset your password which will be emailed to your registered email account.

Please note: we will not be able to reset or retrieve your password unless we have either your correct email address or username.

How do I change my password?
Once logged into your account, please use the ‘Change password’ button available at the very top of your account page, input your existing password and the new password on the form provided and submit. Your account will now be updated with your chosen new password.

How do I change my registered email address?
Once logged into your account please use the ‘Change email address’ button available at the top of your account’s page. Simply type in your new email address and submit the form. As always, please type carefully to ensure that you submit the correct email address.

How do I change or edit my contact details?
Once logged into your account please use the ‘Edit your contact details’ button available at the top of your account’s page. Simply type in your new contact details and submit the form.

Please note: this section is for your address and telephone number. KIDS do not require this information to be filled in but your organisation or local authority might need it for monitoring purposes; for instance, if you are using a work address. Please check these details with your local training team.

My organisation has a firewall. Will that affect my ability to use KIDS eLearning?
It might, as the eLearning is delivered over the internet. While most organisations' firewalls allow at least limited access to the internet, you should confirm with your organisation's IT department. Please email us at elearning[at]kids.org.uk with questions or concerns.

For Super Users and eLearning Managers

You are required to log in to your eLearning administration account using your Super User or eLearning Manager credentials in order to carry out these activities.

How do I set up a new eLearning Manager? (Only available to Super Users)
Please use the ‘Set up new eLearning Manager’ button available on the eLearning Managers section and complete the form. You must also choose which groups of learners you want this particular eLearning Manager to manage. An eLearning Manager can have access to more than one group of learners – simply tick the box next to all of the user groups to which you want to give access.

Once you have completed and submitted the form, the system will generate an email and invite the user to activate and complete the registration.

How do I set up a new person?
Please use the ‘Set up new person’ button available on the People Completing eLearning section. You must allocate this person an appropriate group of learners as this ensures that they will appear in the correct group for monitoring and reporting purposes. Once you have completed and submitted the form, the system will generate an email and invite the user to activate and complete the registration.

How do I create a new or edit an existing user group? (Only available to Super Users)
Please use the ‘Create group’ button available on the People Completing eLearning section. You will be asked to provide a name for your group and you can then save your choice. Once new group is created, you can assign learners or users to this group.

If you need to change or edit the name of a group, select the ‘Edit’ function from the side of the relevant group.

How do I manage available courses? (For Super Users only)
Please use the 'Manage Available Courses' button available on the People Completing eLearning section. This option allows you to choose which modules are made available to everyone signed up on your organisation's licence.

You can also choose to make different modules available to different groups if you prefer. In order to achieve this, please use the 'Manage User Groups' button available in the People Completing eLearning section. You will find the Manage Group Courses option against every group. Follow this link to make various modules available to the respective group.

If a module has a tick in the box next to it, this signifies that the module is available to the worker or department. If you wish to remove modules, simply un-tick the box and the module will no longer be available.

I have Super User or eLearning Manager login details but want to access the eLearning modules myself. What should I do?
As a Super User or eLearning Manager, you will have to create a new learner account in order to access and complete the eLearning modules.
